The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) will release the 2020 Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) results on Friday, August 20, 2021, officials have confirmed.
This is the third and last set of the national examinations to be released after the Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) and 020 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) results that were released last month.
The confirmation was made on Wednesday evening, following a closed-door meeting in which the Uganda National Examination Board (Uneb) briefed Education Minister Ms Janet Museveni about the performance of students.
In a social media post on Wednesday, UNEB said the Education Minister will release the results under strict observance of COVID-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs) from State House, Nakasero.
All officers from the Ministry of Education, Uneb and journalists are required to test for Covid-19 before accessing the venue.
The release of UACE examinations comes at a time when the Ministry of Education has not yet conducted Senior One and Senior Five selections that is usually conducted before Senior Six results are released.
During the release of both 2020 PLE and UACE results, Ms Museveni said the Ministry of Education will set dates for Senior One and Five selections after the lockdown has been lifted.
Uneb conducted all sets of national exams in April as opposed to the usual November/December following the closure of schools in 2020 due to coronavirus.
A total of 98,393 students sat for UACE.
