KAMPALA — Education Minister Janet Museveni and Uganda National Examination Board (Uneb) have released the 2020 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) results from State House Entebbe.
This is the first set of exams to be released by the authorities.
While releasing the results, UNEB said heads of schools won’t be able to access hard copies of 2020 Primary Leaving Examinations.
The examinations body announced that students will be able to access the results by SMS on their phones or via the internet.

How to I check results on Phone?
You can get the 2019 PLE Results for any candidate in a few simple steps.
In your message box, type PLE <space> INDEX NUMBER and send it to 6600.
For example, to check the results of the candidate with index number 654321/001, in your message box, type PLE 654321/001 AND SEND TO 6600.
You will receive an SMS at a cost of UGX 500 per candidate

Go to your web browser, Type ereg.uneb.ac.ug/results.
In the form, enter the candidate’s Index Number and click SEARCH.

He said schools will access the results through the UNEB portal, the same they used to register candidates
He said every school with a UNEB Center Number can access to UNEB portal.
“Once they are released, the results for each school will be automatically uploaded to the portal,” he said.
“UNEB will officially inform the District, Municipal and City Inspectors of Schools to collect the hard copies of the results from UNEB offices,” he added.
A total of 749, 761 candidates from 14,300 examination Centres registered for PLE in 2020. 53% (395,855) of the registered candidates were females while 47% (353,957) were males.
68.4% (513,091) were funded by government under the Universal Primary Education (UPE) Program.
Overall, the performance of the 2020 candidates is comparable to that of the previous year 2019.
