EMERGENCY Life Support for Civilian War Victims (EMERGENCY) is an independent Italian organization established in 1994 to offer high-quality, free medical and surgical care to victims of war, landmines and poverty. It promotes a culture of peace, solidarity and respect for human rights. In cooperation with Ministry of Health, EMERGENCY is finalizing the construction of the Centre of Excellence in Paediatric Surgery in Entebbe.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Monitor and maintain stock accuracy by ensuring the physical stock is in line with the store management system and ensure all stock movements are recorded ensure accuracy
  • Supervise all the activities and movements in the different stores;
  • Ensure that all goods are safely and effectively packed and stores.
  • Ensure adequate record keeping and manage all documentation to confirm proper stock levels and maintain inventory control
  • Manage all store operation activities such as coordinating stock, documenting store transactions, maintaining records, and overseeing storage of surplus inventory.
  • Perform weekly cycle counts, quarterly inventory, mid -year inventory, year-end inventory and physical inventory and prepare year-end inventory reports.
  • Checks the quality and quantity and receives purchase items in accordance with the rules and regulation of the organization.
  • Maintains store register, bin card, and uses dispatch note in equipment dispatches
  • Supervise loading & unloading of commodities and performance of labourers engaged in handling loading/unloading of commodities
  • Ensure that all relevant procedures and processes are followed and adhered to in line with
  • Perform any other duties assigned immediate supervisor.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal applicant should have at least three years of experience in similar jobs
  • Previous experience in the NGO sector
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • IT: user level knowledge, very good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access
  • Must hold a degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Economics or Business administration
