Naalya Senior Secondary School, Bweyogerere

This school was established in 2004 to educate and accommodate the growing numbers of the Naalya population. It was founded by Ugandan teachers with Nanseera Mixed Farm.

This school started with over 100 students and most of the teachers from the Namugongo campus started part-timing here as they recruited the permanent staff.  The first headteacher who set the school to greater heights was the Late Kangaave from 2004 to 2010 on his pass. The school temporarily appointed Mr. Kakembo, M in 2010 later succeeded by Mrs. Nsangi, Robinah, and Ssebyayi.

COMMUNITY

Naalya secondary school Bweyogere is located in Bweyogere ward parish, Kira town council sub-county, Kira town council, in Wakiso district. The school is 12.5km using Jinja Road from the heart of Kampala; using Kireka and Jinja Road it is 13.3km from the heart of Kampala; and 14.8km via Kira Road. This is a private mixed, day and boarding, secondary school. The current population of female and male students is 1:2 respectively and the ratio of staff members is at least 1:50. 

ACADEMICS

The school enrols students both national and international. It enrols students from ages 11 to 19. It has got Ordinary and Advanced levels where the children graduate with Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) respectively.

The school follows the Uganda curriculum as stipulated by the Ministry of Education and Sports. In the past years, the school has improved greatly and it is now among the top 20 secondary schools in the country producing a high number of students with distinctions. The school has produced prestigious members nationally and globally in politics, economics, technology, fashion and design, sports, Entertainment, and finance among others.

FACILITIES

The school has ample space to accommodate facilities that can contribute towards the learners’ comfort, knowledge and skills like dormitories, classrooms, laboratories (computer laboratory, science), playgrounds (pitches – football and athletics; courts – basketball, netball), Gardens for field work, Home economics kitchen, Main hall, sickbay, and Library. The school also has well-equipped canteens stocked with retail for the students’ comfort and necessity accessibility.
