Mt. St. Mary’s College is a girls’ boarding school for ‘O’ and ‘A’ levels. It was founded in 1942 by Mother Kevina of the Franciscan Missionary Sisters for Africa, a congregation of nuns originating in Ireland. The school is located in Kyaggwe County in Mukono district, 44 Km East of Kampala along Kampala Jinja Highway.
The idea to start the school was born out of a need to promote the then very much neglected education for girls and women in this country.
For seniors 1 and 2, students study a total number of 14 subjects, all compulsory. Senior 3 and 4 students offer a maximum number of 10 subjects 7 compulsory and 3 optional.

Students at A’ level are expected to offer 3 principal subjects with a general paper and a subsidiary subject. The subsidiary depends on the combination offered.
