Every year, Makerere University in conjunction with John Hopkins University (JHU) holds a 3-week Summer School (July) which attracts students from the two universities to team up for a peer to peer learning experience on how to deal with public health challenges in refugee communities.
The programme is intended to establish a platform for scholarly exchange and hands-on interaction nationally and internationally, to nurture a new generation and community of scholars and provide leadership needed to address public health concerns like refugee crisis in the country, the East African region and the continent at large.
The School now invites applicants, from disciplines such as Health Sciences, Education, Biology, Journalism, Accountancy and Sociology among others.
