Undergraduate (Diploma Entry) and Postgraduate Call for Applications 2019

Minimum Entry Requirements

The applicant should:

Hold the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE)/O’ Level or its equivalent with passes in at least 5 subjects obtained at the same sitting.
Hold the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE)/A’ Level with at least 2 principal passes or its equivalent obtained at the same sitting.
Diploma holders should have passed with at least a credit from a recognized institution.
Postgraduate applicants must have an honors degree or its equivalent from a recognized degree awarding institution.

Applicants should note that;

All academic documents presented must be from accredited institution
CASES OF IMPERSONATION, FALSIFICATION OF DOCUMENTS OR GIVING FALSE/INCOMPLETE INFORMATION WHENEVER DISCOVERED WILL LEAD TO AUTOMATIC CANCELLATION OF ADMISSION.
Completed Applications must be accompanied with certified copies of academic documents

Applicants whose first language is not English or did not go through an education system with English as a medium of instruction will be required to provide evidence from a recognized English language training institution that they have sufficient command of English language to cope with the programmes.

Undergraduate (Diploma Entry)

Mbarara Main Campus

Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (Duration 5 Years)

Entry Requirements

Be holder of Diploma in any Bio-medical Sciences.
Be registered by the Allied Health Professionals’ Council or the Uganda Nurses and Midwives’ Council
Preference will be given to those with experience of working under primary health care in a rural setting
The candidates who meet the above criteria will be required to sit for an entrance examination in General Paper, Anatomy, Microbiology, Pharmacology and Physiology on Saturday 23^rd March, 2018.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Duration 2 Years)

Entry Requirements

Registered Nurses or Midwives or Comprehensive Nurses or Psychiatric Nurses or Paediatric Nurses
Registered or eligible for registration with Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council
Should have passed science subjects especially Mathematics and Chemistry at ‘O’ level
Sit and pass an entrance examination in Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology and General Paper on Saturday 23^rd March, 2018.

Bachelor of Pharmacy (Duration 4 Years)

Entry Requirements

Be a holder of a Diploma in Pharmacy.
Should have passed Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and English at O’ Level with at least a credit.
Sit and pass an entrance examination consisting of three written papers in Pharmacology, Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Natural products, Introduction to Dispensing and Physiology on Saturday 23^rdMarch, 2018.

Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Duration 3 Years)

Entry Requirements

Be a holder of a Diploma in Pharmacy or Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology.
Should have passed Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and English at O’ Level with at least a credit.

Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Sciences (Duration 2 and a half years, Weekend)

Entry Requirements

Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized institution.
Registered with Allied Health Professionals’ Council
Submit two reference reports one from current employer(s) and the other from the institution where the Diploma training was done.
Sit and pass an entrance examination consisting of three written papers in Clinical Chemistry, Haematology & Blood Transfusion, Histopathology, Microbiology, and Parasitology on Saturday 23^rdMarch, 2018.

Jinja School of Nursing and Midwifery (Affiliated Institution)

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Duration 2 Years)

Entry Requirements

Uganda Institute of Allied Health and Management Sciences, Mulago (Affiliated Institution)

Entry Requirements

Registered with Allied Health Professionals’ Council

Entry Requirements

A degree in Computing, Information Technology, Information Systems, Informatics, Business Studies or a degree in other STEM-related fields from a recognized institution

Postgraduate Diploma in Health Information Technology

Entry Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology/Information Systems/Computer Engineering/Software Engineering or any other computing related field or other STEM-related degree from a recognized higher institution of learning

A bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Nursing, Dentistry, Pharmacy and any other health care-related degree fron a recognized higher institution of learning

Postgraduate Diploma in Information Systems

Entry Requirements

A degree in Information Systems or Computer Science or Software Engineering or Information Technology or Computer Engineering from a recognized institution

A degree in any other STEM-related field with evidence of having taken acceptable courses in information systems

Masters in Business Informatics

Entry Requirements

An honors degree in Computing, Information Technology, Information Systems, Informatics, Business Studies or a degree in other STEM-related fields from a recognized institution

A good postgraduate diploma in Computing, Information Technology, Information Systems, Informatics, Business Studies or a degree in other STEM-related fields from a recognized institution

Master of Science in Health Information Technology

Entry Requirements

An honors degree in health care related field (e.g Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Dentistry) or Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Technology from a recognized institution

Master of Science in Information Systems
