Virika School of Nursing is a Private Not for Profit (PNFP) Health Training Institution (HTI). It is under the training department of Holy Family Virika Hospital owned by Fort Portal Catholic Diocese. The HTI is currently training students of Diploma in Midwifery (Extension), Certificate in Nursing and Certificate in Midwifery.
Virika School of Nursing started in 1964 by the Medical Mission Sisters. It is a PNFP owned by the catholic diocese of Fort Portal. It is situated on Virika Hill, Fort Portal Municipality, in Kabarole district 3km along Fort Portal/Kasese road.

About FPD

The Catholic Diocese of Fort Portal formerly belonging to Rwenzori Vicariate was erected on July 2, 1961, with Rt. Rev. Vincent Joseph McCauley CSC as its first Bishop.
