MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Undergraduate Degree Programmes
- Hold the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE)/O’ Level or its equivalent with a minimum of a pass in at least 5 subjects obtained at the same sitting.
- Hold the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE)/A’ Level with at least 2 principal passes or its equivalent obtained at the same sitting for applicants to a degree programme.
- Diploma holders should have at least a credit from an accredited institution.
- An accredited Higher Education Access Certificate with at least a CREDIT
Undergraduate Diploma programmes.
- In addition to (i) under the direct entry, applicants must hold the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE)/A’ Level with at least 1 principal pass and two subsidiary passes or its equivalent obtained at the same sitting.
- An accredited Higher Education Access Certificate with at least a PASS.
Graduate Programmes.
- In addition to (i) & (ii) under the direct entry, applicants should have an honors degree from an accredited degree awarding institution.
Specific Admission Requirements
In addition to the minimum entry requirements, there are specific requirements for each of the programmes which candidates must fulfil before admission is given. The details of which are captured under every program on Postgraduate and undergraduate levels.
Applicants should note that;
- All academic documents presented must be from accredited institutions
- CASES OF IMPERSONATION, FALSIFICATION OF DOCUMENTS OR GIVING FALSE/INCOMPLETE INFORMATION WHENEVER DISCOVERED WILL LEAD TO AUTOMATIC CANCELLATION OF ADMISSION.
- Completed Applications must be accompanied with certified copies of academic documents
- Detailed information about the specific entry requirements for each programme can be obtained from the links given above, or contact the Academic Registrar’s office.
- Applicants whose first language is not English or who did not go through an education system with English as a medium of instruction will be required to provide evidence from a recognized English language training institution that they have sufficient command of the English language to cope with the programmes.
SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS
All applications MUST be submitted online through https://applications.must.ac.ug
ONLINE APPLICATION PROCEDURE
- Go to https://applications.must.ac.ug
- If you don’t have an Access Code, click “Click here to get an Access Code”, fill in the form and submit. An Access Code will then be sent to your email and phone number. If you already have an Access Code, proceed to step 3.
- Enter your email address and Access Code that has been sent to your phone number to log in
- Select the application category i.e. Direct Entry and click “Apply Now”
- Fill in the application form and submit
- Click “Pay for Form” to generate a payment reference number to be used for paying application fees in the bank
- If you’re a degree or diploma holder, Click “Print Form” and attach the printed form to the hard copies of certified academic and other supporting documents and mail the hard copies to the University or submit it to any of the liaison offices
- Go to the bank and pay the application fees using the payment reference number generated in “Step 6”.

Ugandan Applicants
The minimum requirements for admission to any Undergraduate degree programme are:
Direct Entry from Schools.
- Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or its equivalent with at least 5 passes
- Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) or its equivalent with at least 2 principal passes.
- Applicants MUST meet additional programme-specific entry requirements
Diploma Entry.
- Diploma holders must have passed with at least a credit.

Admission Requirements for Post Graduate Students.
The minimum requirements for admission to any Postgraduate degree are:
Ugandan Applicants
- Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or its equivalent with at least 5 passes
- Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) or its equivalent with at least 2 principal passes.
- An Honors degree from an accredited degree awarding institution
- Candidates who have a Pass degree should have at least a Postgraduate Diploma with at least a credit from an accredited degree awarding institution.
- Candidates MUST meet the programme-specific requirements
For applicants to clinical programmes;
- Have documentary evidence of Internship Training indicating disciplines and dates.
- Be registered or eligible for registration with Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council.
- A current certificate of good standing with the Medical Practitioners’ Council of the country of origin.
International Applicants
International Applicants MUST have qualifications equivalent to the Uganda Advanced certificate of Education (UACE) and Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE). For more information please refer this link here
Admission Requirements for Doctor of Philosophy
The University offers PhD in the fields of Biomedical Engineering, Computing, Development Studies, Education, Business Management, Medicine and Science. Program duration is 3 years.
Minimum Requirements
- Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or its equivalent with at least 5 passes
- Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) or its equivalent with at least 2 principal passes.
- An Honors degree from an accredited degree awarding institution
- A Masters’ degree from an accredited degree awarding institution
- A Concept paper which the candidate shall be required to present orally
- Curriculum Vitae of proposed supervisor(s).
