ST. Kagwa Bushenyi High School was started in 1968 by the Mbarara Diocese and granted aided by the government in 1976. under the headship of Rev. Fr. Bruno Loiselle (RIP) from Canada. It has developed over the years with the support of the parents and the Uganda government.
The government of Uganda has been paying salaries for some staff, appointing boards to manage the school, initiating policies etc. The parents have been paying school fees for the recurrent expenditure, and capital development projects and assisting the administration through the Parents Teachers Association to plan and maintain high academic standards and discipline.
