From 1946 when Jinja College was established by the Mill Hill Missionary fathers, the gallant boys who pass through this institution are taught to Strive to Excel. That has always been and will continue to be our motivation.

SENIOR ONE ADMISSION

Dear Applicant,

  1. Thank you for your interest in joining SENIOR ONE at Jinja College. It is a Catholic founded; Government-aided Secondary School located at Lubaga Hill, 1km from Jinja town. The school was founded by Mill Hill Missionary Fathers in 1946. The vacancies are highly competitive.

Bring (i) One ream of Rotatrim printing paper.
(ii) One passport-size photograph of your parent/guardian.

(iii) One passport-size photograph of the student.

(iv) A birth certificate

(v) Photocopy of Parent’s/Guardian’s National Identity Card.

SCHOOL CHARGES

Besides the termly fees of Shs 800,000/=, senior one students are required to pay:

Shs. 287,000 to cover the school uniform and the school magazine.

SCHOOL UNIFORM AND PERSONAL EFFECTS

School Uniform:
The money (U.Shs. 287,000) included in the school charges covers two pairs of trousers, two shirts, two casual wear T-shirts, a sweater, a tie, a sports T-shirt and two pairs of socks.

You are, therefore, required to come with two pairs of black trousers for casual wear, two pairs of black shoes, and a black belt to complete the school uniform. Other casual wear will not be accepted.

Personal Effects:
Foam mattress (not wider than 3ft)
Bed sheets, blanket, towel, slippers, night dress
Two pairs of decent leather sandals, “old tyre and plastic sandals are strictly prohibited”.
Treated mosquito net
Enough underpants, handkerchiefs
hair comb, toothbrush and paste
10 litre Jerry can and a basin
Torch
Fork, table knife, spoon and a water bottle
Drier and a scrubbing brush
A minimum of 30,000= as pocket money to be kept in the Bursar’s office
Transport money (enough to transport you back home at the end of the term).
4,000/= to be paid at school for rolls of toilet paper.
Note very carefully: Wrap the mattress properly with a mackintosh in case the child is a bed wetter.

Ensure that you clearly label all your son’s property.

SENIOR FIVE ADMISSION

APPENDIX 1: TERM I SCHOOL CHARGES

Note very carefully: Each student is expected to participate in at least one of the outdoor games played at this school. Those games are Football, Volleyball and Basketball. Whereas the school will provide you with the balls for the said games, you will be expected to buy yourself appropriate footwear for the games
you play.
