UNEB to Release 2023 PLE Results Tomorrow

The release of the 2023 PLE results is set to take place tomorrow, Thursday, January 25th, 2024. This follows a successful briefing meeting of the Minister of Education and Sports and other top officials of the Ministry officials by UNEB. The UNEB team was led by the new UNEB Chairperson, Prof. Celestino Obua, who was flanked by the ED, Mr. Dan N. Odongo. It was also attended by some members of the UNEB Senior Management Team. The 1st Lady and Minister for Education and Sports is expected to release the results at State House Nakasero, starting at 11:00 am. The function will be broadcast live on all major national Radio and TV stations and live-streamed on UNEB Social Media Platforms

The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) will release the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) next week, a senior examinations body has confirmed after the body secured an appointment to brief the First Lady, Janet Museveni, also the Minister of Education and Sports.

This website has learnt that UNEB  the Education Minister on the PLE results for the year 2023 on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at 11:00 am, at State House Nakasero before releasing the results the next day.

A senior official indicated that PLE results for the year 2023 will be released on Thursday,  January 25, 2024, at 11:00 am, at State House Nakasero.

Education officials invited to attend both the briefing on PLE results for the year 2023 have been directed to take a COVID-19 test for the meeting on Tuesday, 23rd January 2024 at Mulago Platinum Centre from 9:00 am-3:00 pm.

Uneb is supposed to brief the Minister of Education about the performance of learners before the results are released to the public.

Uneb Spokesperson Jennifer Kalule early this week told reporters that the examinations body had written to the Minister of Education and Sports Janet Museveni, requesting an appointment for a briefing before releasing the results.

After the results are released, the selection exercise will then commence.

The Senior One selection exercise is usually conducted at UMA where schools select candidates for their respective schools depending on the set cut-off points.

A total of 749,347 pupils sat for PLE in 2023, including 391,558 females and 357,789 males.

The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) officials will on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 brief the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Janet Museveni, and other Ministry officials on the outcome of the Primary Leaving Examinations for the year 2023.

This is in line with the mandate of the Board.

The briefing, a precursor to the release of the results, will take place at State House, Kampala on Wednesday afternoon.

The briefing will be done by Dan Odongo, the UNEB’s executive secretary, and the board’s chairperson, Professor Celestino Obua.

After the briefing, an announcement of the official date for the release of the results, and the related modalities will be done.

This website however understands that PLE exams will be released on Thursday, January 25, 2024, owing to the delay caused by the just concluded Non-Aligned Movement Summit.

How to check the 2023 PLE exam results 

As soon as the results are released, UNEB said candidates, parents, and stakeholders will be able to access the results of individual learners via SMS by typing PLE <Space> Full Index Number, e.g. 003301/368 and send to 6600 on all mobile telecom networks.

Headteachers and school Administrators will access the results through the UNEB portal using their usual details.
