Muni University Application for Higher Education Certificate in Humanities Admission

The Academic Registrar Muni University invites applications from qualified persons for admission to Higher Education Certificate in Humanities on Private Sponsorship for 2021/2022 Academic Year. The deadline for application is 19th
December 2021. Eligible applicants MUST fill and submit application form ONLINE on the URL: http//admissions.muni.ac.ug. Please find detailed Online application procedure at the end of this advert.

1.0. Programme description
The overall aim of the programme is to provide entry opportunity into Diploma or Degree programmes for; candidates who performed dismally (low performance) at UACE; those who do not have appropriate qualifications based on the current national admission criteria; and those with foreign qualifications but do not merit
for admission in the Ugandan Education System.
The Higher Education Certificate in Humanities (HEC-Humanities) is fully accredited by National Council for Higher Education (NCHE). The programme will be jointly implemented by Faculty of Education and Faculty of Management
Science. HEC-Humanities is a one academic year (i.e. comprising of two Semesters) intensive pre-undergraduate bridging/foundational programme.

2.0. Minimum admission requirements
Eligible applicants MUST possess:
2.1. Holders of UACE. Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) with one (1) principal pass OR at least two (2) subsidiary passes obtained in principal Arts subjects (i.e., History, Economics, Mathematics, Entrepreneurship, Geography, IRE/CRE, Literature & Fine Art) or its equivalent.

2.2. Vocational Qualifications. Vocational qualifications at level 2 or level 3 of Uganda Vocational Qualifications framework.
2.3. Holder of foreign Qualifications: Foreign qualification of UACE equivalent with an overall grade of C (Students who obtained their Secondary School qualifications that are not considered to be equivalent to UACE but permit admission into Higher Education in their countries) In addition, foreign students whose studies were not conducted in English shall show proof of proficiency in the English Language.

2.4. Qualifications equivalent to Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) as shall be determined by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) and Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) where applicable.
2.5. Ordinary Certificate in relevant discipline from NCHE recognized institution.
3.0. Programme Fees per Semester

4.0.Progression (pathways)
Progression to Diploma or Degree programmes, the following apply.
i) Diploma programmes: A person shall have passed a HEC with at least a Class
III (Pass).
ii) Bachelors degree programme: A person shall have passed a HEC with at least a Class II (Credit).
NOTE. A student shall not be awarded for early exit (Intermediate Qualification) from a HEC programme but earned credit units are transferable to similar HEC programmes.

A candidate who successfully completes a Higher Education Certificate in Humanities with Credit or Distinction award can gain access (admission) to any

5.0. How to Apply (ONLINE application procedure)
Please follow procedure below. The applicant MUST have an active email address and a Mobile phone number.
i) Login: https://admissions.muni.ac.ug/
ii) Sign up using full name, e-mail and mobile number. Please note that your name must be similar to the one on your supporting documents for your application to be accepted by the system.
iii) A password will be sent to both your e-mail and mobile telephone number. The system will prompt you to change the password to the one you can easily remember.
iv) To fill application form, click on the “Apply Now” button displayed on the running scheme.
v) Select running scheme: HIGHER EDUCATION CERTIFICATE- HUMANITIES. Fill and complete all applicable field on the form appropriately.
vi) Obtain a payment advice slip by clicking on “Pay for the Form” button and get a payment reference number.
vii) Pay a non-refundable fee plus bank charge at any Bank branch (NOT Bank Agents) or through Mobile Money. Ugandans and East Africa (Incl. South
Sudan): Ug. shs. 50,000 while Other Nationals: Equivalent of USD 50.
viii) Payment of application fees SHOULD be made within the stipulated time
(within 24 hours). Only paid-up applications will be processed for selection and admission purposes.
ix) Arrangements will be made to support applicants who encounter challenges in the course of online application.
NOTE:
i) Applicants MUST scan and attach on the application portal copies of academic documents and Birth Certificate and/or National ID (as a single file in PDF format and not exceeding 1 MB).
ii) Holders of Vocational Qualifications, Foreign qualifications, Ordinary Certificate MUST attach CERTIFIED copies of academic documents.
