Kicwamba’s Global Application Deadline for Courses Registration 2021 Academic Year

In a month’s time, Government will close applications for students who want to get internationally accredited oil and gas courses from Uganda Technical College Kicwamba. 

According to a statement from the Kicwamba and the two partnering universities abroad, the deadline for applications is January 19, 2021. 

Of the new entrants, Government plans to give 80% subsidy for the first cohort of students to join these new oil courses. 

With support from the World Bank under the Albertine Region Sustainable Development Project (ARSDP), UTC Kichwamba in Partnership with Coventry University UK, recently developed four highly competitive, internationally adapted, and recognised Competency Based Training Programmes for Construction trades that support the Oil and Gas Industry.

The statement from the education ministry notes that the Government of Uganda is to subsidise this training for the first intake of 60 qualifying Ugandan nationals per trade to a maximum of 80%.

“The Office of the Academic Registrar now invites interested Applicants for the first cohort beginning in February 2021. Females are encouraged to apply. Deadline for receiving applications is 30th January, 2021,” reads the statement. 

Uganda Technical College- Kichwamba (UTC-KI) is a City and Guilds accredited Center for International Vocational Qualifications (IVQs) Level 2 Training in construction related trades that support the Oil and Gas sector. 

The College is an Approved Centre for City & Guilds qualifications and Awards with Center NO. 851044

UTC-KI is a Government Tertiary Institution under the Ministry of Education and Sports. Established as an artisan Centre for settling war veterans in 1947, UTC-KI has gone through a series of institutional development. 

In 2011 the college embarked on Competence Based Education and Training curriculum for two-year engineering national diploma programs in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Water and Architecture.
