Uganda’s Preparedness to Prevent, Detect and Respond to the COVID-19 Pandemic Virus

Makerere University School of Public Health (MakSPH) hosted a Public dialogue on 13th March 2020 aimed at sharing Uganda’s preparedness to prevent, detect and respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.

On Friday 13th March, 2020, the Makerere University School of Public Health (MakSPH) hosted panelists from the Ministry of Health (MoH)-Uganda, World Health Organisation (WHO)-Uganda, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)-Uganda and the African Field Epidemiology Network (AFENET) at a dialogue aimed at addressing the country’s readiness to combat the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Moderated by the Dean MakSPH, Prof. Rhoda Wanyenze, the public dialogue also listened to presentations from the WHO Country Representative to Uganda, Yonas Tegegn Woldemariam, Director General Health Services, MoH, Dr. Henry Mwebesa and CDC Uganda Country Director, Dr. Lisa J. Nelson.
