The Academic Registrar, Makerere University invites applications for a one-week training programme in Public Health in Complex Emergencies (PHCE) that will take place from 2nd to 7th November, 2020.

The goal of the course is to enhance the capacity of humanitarian assistance workers and their organisations to respond to health needs of refugees and displaced persons affected by these emergencies.

With a curriculum developed by field staff from humanitarian, academia and international organisations, participants are exposed to enriching concepts like weapons and trauma, the context of emergencies, epidemiology, security, communicable diseases control, psychology issues, environmental health and reproductive health violence.

The Programme is crafted for NGO/PVO, UN, Ministry of Health staff, Health Coordinators, Programme Managers, Medical Officers and District Health Officers.

Applications should be submitted as soon as possible and latest Thursday, 24th October 2019 at 1700hours Local time (GMT+3). They will be accepted on a rolling basis until the course is full. Course organizers will review applications and notification of status will be sent as soon as possible.
