Nsambya School of Nursing and Midwifery

St. Francis Nsambya Hospital Training School is a one in three school, comprising of a Nursing, Midwifery and Laboratory schools. It is the training department of St. Francis Hospital. The school was started by Mother Kevin Kearner a Franciscan missionary sister from Ireland who also founded Nsambya hospital in 1903. She started an enrolled Midwifery school in 1919 in order to develop staff that would help her handle the many obstetrical problems that faced mothers and their unborn children at that time

Admission Requirement

‘A’ level sciences with a Principal Pass in Biology and a subsidiary pass in Chemistry

Certificate in Nursing or Midwifery

‘O’ Level standard with at least passes in sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English, and Mathematics)

‘A’ level sciences with  two (2) Principal Passes in Biology and Chemistry

‘O’ Level standard with at least passes in sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English, and Mathematics)

Certificate – Enrolled nursing /Midwifery /laboratory Assistant or Diploma in any of the above
