Institute of Survey and Land Management

The history of training technicians in the Engineering and Surveying in Uganda dates back to 1922 when a pioneering group of students were admitted to Makerere Technical College. Over time the Survey technicians’ course was transferred to Nakawa Vocational College in Kampala and to Survey Training School, Entebbe in 1944.

Courses Offered

ISLM offers the following comprehensive two year Diploma and Certificate courses and Short courses on demand.

  1. Diploma in Land Surveying and Geomatics,
  2. Diploma in Cartography,
  3. Diploma in Physical Planning,
  4. Diploma in Land Management and Valuation,
  5. Certificate in Land Management and Geomatics.
  6. Short-Certificate course in Management of Land Acquisition, Re-settlement and Rehabilitation (MLARR).
  7. Short course in Geographical Information Systems (GIS).
  8. Short Course in Computer Aided Design/Drafting(AutoCAD)

1.Government Diploma 

  • (1st sem.ugx.498,000  2nd,3rd &4th sem.ugx.278,000)

2.Private Diploma  

  •      ( 1st semester Tution.ugx.938,000 Hostel but optional ugx.600,000 UBTEB ugx.103,000)
  • ( 2nd,3rd &4th  semester Tution.ugx.888,000 Hostel but optional ugx.600,000 UBTEB ugx.103,000)

Certificate

  •  ( 1st semester Tution.ugx.663,000 Hostel but optional ugx.600,000 UBTEB ugx.103,000)

OTHER CHARGES

  1. Industrial training fees payable once in the 2nd semester of the 1st year 80, 000
  2. Library development payable once 50, 000
  3. Internet charges payable per semester 30, 000
  4. Medical fees payable per semester 50,000
