About Tugende

Tugende is a technology-enabled asset finance company with a social mission. We provide an affordable path to ownership of income-generating assets for proven entrepreneurs. Our primary product is a lease to own motorcycle financing package which includes training, life and health insurance, and active support. Tugende currently serves tens of thousands of clients in Uganda and we are preparing to extend our offering into Kenya.

With a market for motorcycle taxis of over 800,000 drivers in East Africa alone, Tugende is expanding rapidly in our core product. We are also building a platform with our staff, branches, data, systems, and deep knowledge of the informal sector, to expand into other asset financings as successfully as we have with our current core product.

About this Role:

The Customer Relations – Social Media Lead has the overall responsibility to communicate to our clients ownership opportunities through our Social Media mandated channels. This includes responding to, optimizing and tracking our clients’ social media activities.

Tugende’s mission is focused on people: “Helping people help themselves”. As part of the Tugende Customer Relations function, the Social Medial Lead will have the responsibility to establish a very good understanding of our clients’ business goals and needs so that they are in the best position to improve the company’s offering and increase the value provided to customers.

Key duties to be performed:

The job holder will perform the following duties:

  • Respond to inquiries and comments in Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp
  • Create a regular publishing schedule and promote content through social advertising following Marketing guidelines
  • Integrate all marketing channels within Social Media (SEO, content marketing, email, print and digital marketing)
  • Manage the executions of social media advertising campaigns launched by the Marketing team
  • Social Media content management
  • Monitor SEO (search engine optimization) traffic metrics
  • Suggest and implement new features to develop brand awareness, like promotions and competitions on social media
  • Assist the marketing department with social media accounts’ design (e.g. Facebook timeline cover, whatsapp flyers etc.)

REQUIREMENTS

Personal specifications:

  1. Preferred skills, knowledge & abilities
  • Strong leadership skills,
  • Solid knowledge of SEO, keyword research and Google Analytics,
  • Good computer skills in using G-suit,
  • Good writing skills in Luganda and English
  • Good verbal and phone communication skills,
  • Take ownership and initiative,
  • Must possess a high level of professionalism and integrity,
  • Ability to speak atleast 2-3 of these main local languages; Luganda, Lusoga, Runyankole, Gishu, Itesot, Acholi, Langi, Ateso, Lusoga or Lukonjo.
  1. Preferred Qualification:
  • A minimum of a Diploma in Business relevant field
  1. Preferred experience:
  • At least 1 year work experience as a Social Media Executive with a reputable organisation or institute.
  • Experience with SEO, keyword research and Google Analytics
