DAAD Master of Public Health Scholarships Date: Thursday, January 8, 2019
Busitema University with support from the German Academic Exchange Service program (DAAD), is offering up to Five (5) Masters scholarships with effect from 1st September 2019. The Masters students should be from the Faculty of Health Sciences programme;
Master of Public Health
Duration and Commencement Scholarships are available for up to a maximum of two years. The scholarship will be initially granted for one year and may be extended upon individual request and receipt of a complete application.
DAAD will pay for tuition fees to the university according to the submitted fees structure and a monthly stipend to the scholarship holder (covering cost of living including accommodation).
Admission Requirements:
Prospective candidates are expected to hold any of the following degrees:
• A degree in a health sciences e.g. MB.Ch.B, BSc. Nursing, B.Pharmacy, BDS, BSc.
Physiotherapy and BVM
• A degree in biological sciences e.g. Biology, Laboratory sciences, Nutrition
• A degree in social sciences e.g. Social work, sociology, economics, demography and
statistics

Application:
The application for the DAAD scholarships will follow two steps:
Step 1:

To be eligible for consideration by Busitema University for the DAAD scholarships, applicants must
first be admissible to the Master of Public Health programme. Applicants interested in the DAAD
scholarships must therefore first apply for Busitema University admission to the Master of Public
Health. Applications to Busitema University programmes is done
online: https://admissions.busitema.ac.ug/
Step 2:
After applying for admission in Step 1 above, Written applications for scholarship consideration
should be addressed to Director, Directorate of Graduate Studies, Research and Innovations,
Busitema University and accompanied with:

  1. Proof of admission or evidence of application for admission to the MPH programme (Attach a copy of scanned application form or payment slip)
  2. Certified copies of all academic transcripts and certificates.
  3. A Curriculum Vitae (CV)
    Applications for the scholarship should be submitted in soft (scanned, PDF) or hard copies to Busitema University Liaison Office, Lincoln Flats Room A2 Makerere University, not later
    than 5.00 pm on Friday 15th February 2019.

    Selection of candidates:
    A panel constituted by the DGSRI will screen, rank, pre-select and short-list double the number of candidates as the offer (i.e. 10 candidates). Shortlist will be based on the quality of the applications
