MUST: The First Innovations Summit for Africa 2019
The Faculty of Computing and Informatics (FCI) of Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) conceptualized the need for a Technology Summit that would provide the platform for creating ICT awareness, provide exposure to both academic and industrial innovative solutions that address the various challenges in Uganda and Africa at large. Forming partnerships with other interested parties, THE 1st INNOVATIONS TECH SUMMIT 4 AFRICA was born guided by the Theme “Innovations and Technology: The Gateway for Socio-Economic Empowerment & Transformation – Case of Africa”.
This two-day event to be hosted from 3rd and 4th (Friday and Saturday) May 2019 by MUST at ADIT MALL opposite Bank of Uganda in Mbarara, is intended;
- To provide an avenue for open discussions about various areas of ICT
- To Attract both academicians and professionals to discuss Technology based Solutions for Africa
- To provide exposure for ICT companies whose market target is Africa.
The event is planned to host various exhibitors that are in the field of ICT. Companies and Technology incubation centers will have the opportunity to showcase their innovations and products as well as interact and make sales. It is also expected to dive into services, training and updates on topics like Cloud computing, software Engineering, hardware, mobility, Internet of things, networks, security and managed services in relation to Africa. More than 500 participants are expected to attend this event.
