Kampala International University gets UBTEB accreditation as an Examinations Centre

In accordance with the Statutory Instrument No. of 2009 establishing UBTEB, one of the key roles of UBTEB is to accredit training institutions as examination centres and streamline the assessment and conduct of examinations in the areas of Business, Technical, Vocational and Specialized professions in Uganda. KIU has been granted provisional accreditation letter for a total of nine National Certificate programmes offered at KIU main campus in Kansanga and KIU Western campus in Ishaka Municiplaity, Bushenyi district.

UBTEB in its new strategic focus aims at building stronger institutional linkages and boost conduct of competence based assessment, examinations and awards. The Board is pleased to have KIU on board as an examination centre offering demand driven vocational programmes. In the accreditation letter, the Executive Secretary of UBTEB Oyesigye Onesmus stated, “The Board is pleased and congratulates management and staff of KIU upon successful accreditation as UBTEB examination centre”. Oyesigye called upon other Universities that have not complied with the Ministry of Education and Sports policy directive that was issued in November 2017 on streamlining the accreditation and assessment of Post O’level certificates programmes. The Board shall continue to engage with the different BTVET sub sector players to ensure effective and efficient quality competence based assessment and awards.
UBTEB pledges commitment to her mandate through continuous assessment, effective monitoring systems for real life projects and industrial training.
UBTEB fraternity welcomes KIU on board as we continue “Setting Pace for Quality Assessment”.
