Commissioner BTVET urges Lecturers to Promote Vocationalisation of Education

The Commissioner BTVET Hajat Safina Musenne has argued the lecturers from vocational training institutions to promote vocationalisation of education starting with primary and secondary levels of education. She said this while officiating at the opening of the UBTEB Assessors training workshop at Fisheries Training institute Entebbe on 9th August 2017. “The Government of Uganda is committed to promoting vocational education at all levels of education and therefore we appeal to you to encourage and sensitise the communities on the role and value of vocational education in building our economy” Safina stated.

The Executive Secretary UBTEB Mr. Oyesigye appreciated the Assessors for the job well done and promised them that the Board is committed to training a total of 500 certified Assessors in the whole country. This is done in line with boosting quality assessment that will enable the Board produce dynamic and competent graduates with skills that meet the world of work demands.

The training of Assessors workshop is scheduled to take a period of 10 days with a total of 100 participants in phase one.
