What is Gold?
Gold is a chemical element with the symbol Au and atomic number 79. This makes it one of the higher atomic number elements that occur naturally.
It is a bright, slightly orange-yellow, dense, soft, malleable, and ductile metal in a pure form. Chemically, gold is a transition metal and a group 11 element.

What is special about gold?
Gold is one of the densest of all metals. It is a good conductor of heat and electricity. It is also soft and the most malleable and ductile of the elements;
an ounce (31.1 grams; gold is weighed in troy ounces) can be beaten out to 187 square feet (about 17 square meters) in extremely thin sheets called gold leaf.
Does Uganda have Gold?
In July the Ugandan Government said exploration surveys in the country had revealed vast estimated gold deposits of around 31 million tones.
Of the behemoth find, around 320,158 metric tones are refined gold.
