How To Register A Business In Uganda

The steps below are ways of registering a business in Uganda

Search for the business name.

Reserve the Business Name.

Obtain a Certificate of Incorporation.

Obtain an Investment License.

Obtain a Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN)

Obtain a Trading License.

Register with National Social Security Fund (NSSF)

Make a Company Seal.

Where can I register my business in Uganda?

Company Registration in Uganda is done by TheĀ Uganda Registration Services Bureau, an autonomous statutory body established by Chapter 210 Laws of Uganda in 1998.

Under Section 4(2) of the URSB Act, the Bureau is mandated to Carry out all registrations required under the relevant laws.

Do all businesses need to be registered in Uganda?

The Bureau is mandated under the Uganda Registration Services Bureau Act Cap 210 to register all business entities in Uganda which are required by law to be registered.

The Directorate of Business Registration is responsible for the registration of Public/Private companies.
