Application for a TIN is done online via URA’s website www.ura.go.ug.

Before application, an individual needs the following identifications; a National ID, a driver’s license, and a passport.

Visit the URA website and then go to e-services, Click instant TIN, Fill in the required fields and click submit.

How long does it take to get an individual TIN number in Uganda?

URA will send an Auto notification of the receipt of your application upon submission.

For applications without VAT, we aim to notify you of your TIN or a decision on your registration application within 2 working days of receiving all the necessary information.

What do I need to register for TIN?

To obtain a Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) as an Individual include: Duly completed TIN Application Form.

Form of identification – National Driver’s License, International Passport, National Identity Card, Official (Staff) ID card, Certified copy of your full birth certificate.

Utility bill.
