What is Irish Potatoes?

Irish potato candy is a traditional Philadelphian candy. Despite its name, it is not from Ireland, and does not usually contain any potato.

The candies have a coconut cream inside and are rolled in cinnamon on the outside, resulting in an appearance reminiscent of small potatoes.

Peel your potatoes well making sure to remove all unwanted parts and spots.

Slice your potatoes to a paper thin size, this means that your potatoes should be very thin and light.

Wash the potato slices clean in a large bowl of cold water. Drain and rinse them as much as you see the need to.

Refill the large bowl with clean water and add salt to the water.  Place your potatoes in the salty water and let them for about 40 minutes. Then drain the potatoes and rinse them with fresh water and then set them aside.

Pat the potato chips dry with a paper serviettes or a kitchen towel cloth.

Irish potatoes are rich in antioxidants, as it contains Vitamin C to repair the wear and tear of the body cells.

It is very effective in dealing with both external and internal inflammation issues. It also has Vitamin B6 and potassium to relieve the digestive system inflammation and inflamed intestines.
