The Busoga University Students body has an independent organ called the Students’ Guild comprised of bona-fide members of the students’ community democratically elected and headed by the Guild president. The Guild has got main three major arms;
The executive
The cabinet comprised of only ministers of the Guild and
The Guild council a representation of all constituents in the University.
With subcommittees such as: Tender Board Committee, Finance, and most important of all the Guild Discipline Committee which handles the day to day disciplinary cases of students with the guidance of the Directorate of Students’ Affairs.
Eligibility for election to the Guild includes good moral record, good academic performance and excludes student in the last year of their course (3rd year, 4th year or 5th year depending on the programme).
The Guild acts as a link between the Students and the University Administration with representation on some of the decision making organs of the University.
