What is Anesthesia?

Anesthesia is a state of controlled, temporary loss of sensation or awareness that is induced for medical or veterinary purposes.

It may include some or all analgesia, paralysis, amnesia, and unconsciousness. An individual under the effects of anesthetic drugs is referred to as being anesthetized.

Mature entry diploma holders, current anesthetic officers (higher diploma), and advanced level (UACE) school leavers are eligible for entry into the course.

Students will spend the first two years learning basic sciences (MBChB) before completing two years of anesthesia, critical care, and pain management training.

As a B.Sc Anesthesia graduate, you can find employment at medical facilities such as clinics, hospitals, and research facilities.
