Muni University Application for Admission to Undergraduate, Graduate and Higher Education Certificate (HEC) Programmes

The Academic Registrar Muni University invites applications from qualified and interested persons for admission to Undergraduate, Graduate and Higher Education Certificate (HEC) Programmes on the Private Sponsorship Scheme for the 2023/2024 Academic Year. Eligible applicants MUST fill and submit the application form ONLINE on the URL: http//admissions.muni.ac.ug. Please find the detailed online application procedure at the end of this advert. The deadline for application is 31st May 2023, at midnight.

Other specific programme details/requirements
A. Diploma holder applicants for the Bachelor of Nursing Science programme:
(i) Must be registered with relevant professional Councils/bodies (e.g., Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council, etc.)
(ii) Should possess a minimum of two (2) years’ work experience after registration with the professional body.
(iii) Qualifying diploma holder applicants will be REQUIRED to sit and pass a Pre-entry Examination of Muni University, scheduled on Friday 12th May 2023 at 9:00 a.m.

3.1. Programme description
The Higher Education Certificate is the fourth route/avenue of admission into Diploma or Degree programmes approved by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE);
persons who do not have requisite/appropriate qualifications based on the current Uganda National Admission criteria; and persons with foreign qualifications but do not merit
admission in the Ugandan Education System. The Higher Education Certificate is a one Academic Year (i.e., Two Semesters) intensive pre-undergraduate bridging/access/foundational programme in specific subject combinations focused towards a particular career/s progression.
3.2. Admission requirements
Eligible applicants MUST possess:
(a) Direct Entry (Holders of UACE). Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) with one (1) principal pass OR at least two (2) subsidiary passes obtained in principal subjects.
(b) Vocational Qualifications. Vocational qualifications at level 2 or level 3 of Uganda Vocational Qualifications framework.
(c) Holder of foreign Qualifications: Foreign qualification of UACE equivalent with an overall grade of C (Students who obtained their Secondary School qualifications that are not considered to be equivalent to UACE but permit admission into Higher Education in their countries) In addition, foreign students whose studies were not conducted in English shall show proof of proficiency in the English Language.
(d) Qualifications equivalent to Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) shall be determined by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) and/ or Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) where applicable.
(e) Ordinary Certificate in relevant discipline from an NCHE-recognized institution.

4.0. HOW TO APPLY (ONLINE APPLICATION PROCEDURE)
THE APPLICATION IS ONLINE. Please follow the online application procedure below to apply. The applicant MUST have an active email address, and a Mobile phone number.
(i) To apply, login: to https://admissions.muni.ac.ug/ (you may use internet web browsers e.g., Google Chrome, Firefox, Mozilla, Opera etc.)
(ii) Click SIGN UP/REGISTER using full name, e-mail and mobile number. Please note that your name must be similar to the one on your supporting documents for your
application to be accepted by the system.
(iii) A six-digit code/password will be sent to both your e-mail and mobile telephone number. The system will prompt you to CHANGE THE PASSWORD to the one you can easily remember.
(iv) To fill out the application form, click on “APPLY NOW” displayed on the running scheme. Scroll down and select the appropriate schemes that are running.
(v) Once all details are filled in, click “SUBMIT FORM”
(vi) Attach your SCANNED Academic documents by clicking on “ATTACH FILES” (Please note that the system will not allow you to proceed to payments if you have not attached your academic documents).
(vii) Obtain a payment slip by clicking the “PAY FOR FORM” button and get the PAYMENT REFERENCE NUMBER, which you will use to pay application fees. Select either Bank or Mobile Money (i.e., AIRTEL OR MTN).
(viii) Use the Payment Reference Number to pay a non-refundable application fee: East Africa Ug. Shs. 50,000 or Other Nationals Ug. Shs. 183,000, at any Bank branch (NOT Bank Agents) or through Mobile Money (MTN or Airtel). Note that application fees exclude bank/transaction charges.
5.0. OTHER PERTINENT INFORMATION
(i) BEFORE YOU COMMENCE THE ONLINE APPLICATION PROCESS, Applicants (undergraduate and Graduate) must SCAN copies of Academic Documents and Birth Certificate and/or National ID (as a single file in PDF format and not exceeding 1 MB).
(ii) Holders of Diploma and Degree and/or Professional qualifications MUST attach CERTIFIED copies of Academic Documents.
(iii) Only correctly filled, complete and paid-up applications will be processed for selection and admission purposes.
(iv) Successful applicants admitted to undergraduate programmes on private sponsorship may apply for Student Loan Scheme on specific programmes once the Higher
Education Students’ Financing Board has advertised the Call for Application for 2023/2024 AY.
(v) THE UNIVERSITY RESERVES THE RIGHT TO ADMIT APPLICANTS OR ROLL-OUT ADVERTISED PROGRAMME ONLY WHEN THE REQUIRED NUMBER OF QUALIFYING
APPLICANTS HAVE BEEN REALIZED.
(vi) Applicants are advised to print and keep a copy of the application form together with a payment slip for future use.
(vii) NOTE THAT as far as University fees are concerned, East Africa includes applicants from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, DRC and South Sudan.
(viii) REMEMBER: The deadline for Application is 31ST MAY 2023, (EXCEPT for Diploma holder applicants for the Bachelor of Nursing Science programme whose deadline for application is 30th April 2023).
