New Member of the Education Service Commission sworn in.

Honorable Jacob Richards Opolot was sworn in as the 7th Member of the Education Service Commission in a ceremony that was presided over by Her Worship Justice Prossy Katushabe on 15th October 2021 at the High Court, Kampala.

Hon. Jacob Richards Opolot
Hon. Opolot is a distinguished leader who has represented Pallisa County in the Parliament of Uganda from 2011- 2021. He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Education and a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Hons)
in Social Sciences of Makerere University.
Before joining the Parliament of Uganda as a Member of Parliament representing Pallisa County, Hon. Opolot served as a Programs Coordinator, Plan Uganda- Luweero Programme Area from 2002- 2010.
From 1999- 2002, Hon. Opolot was a Programs Support Officer, Plan Uganda, Tororo Program Area. In addition, he has worked as a teacher for Mulagi Girls’ Secondary School. From 1998- 2002 he served as an LC5 Councilor and Chairperson Health and Child Welfare Committee, Pallisa District Local Council.
Hon. Opolot has attended various workshops that have exposed him to the various dynamics of leadership and empowered him with requisite skills for community transformation. These included but were not limited to : a one week Leadership and Management Training organized by the International Leadership of Finland and UCOBAC Secretariat; a three weeks training on Gender integration into project planning and management organized by AMREF; Training on Community Based
HIV/ AIDs health care services provision, organized by Uganda Wetlands Conservation Program; a five day wetland conservation training organized by Uganda Wetlands Conservation Program; the National Integrity workshop organized by the IGG and World Bank; the HIV/ AIDs Peer Education training organized by AIDS Information Centre; a one week Project/ Logical Framework training organized by Action Aid Uganda; and Training in Planning and Management of Community Based projects organized by UCOBAC.
