Attach an original receipt of application fee of Uganda Shs20,000/= obtainable from the University Bursar at ARU Campus or ARU contact office in Kampala.

It should be NOTED by all the applicants that cases of impersonation, falsification of documents or giving false information is a criminal offense in Uganda Courts of Law.

St. Francis Nsambya Hospital Training School is a one in three school, comprising of a Nursing, Midwifery and Laboratory schools. It is the training department of St. Francis Hospital. The school was started by Mother Kevin Kearner a Franciscan missionary sister from Ireland who also founded Nsambya hospital in 1903. She started an enrolled Midwifery school in 1919 in order to develop staff that would help her handle the many obstetrical problems that faced mothers and their unborn children at that time.

COURSES OFFERED/ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Diploma Nursing/Midwifery (Direct) 3 years ‘A’ level sciences with a Principal Pass in Biology and a subsidiary pass in Chemistry Diploma June –August. November

Diploma Nursing/Midwifery (up-grading) 1 ½ years Certificate in Nursing or Midwifery Diploma Feb – March May

Certificate in Nursing or Midwifery 2 ½ years ‘O’ Level standard with at least passes in sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English, and Mathematics) Certificate Feb – March and June -August May/November

Laboratory Technicians(Direct) or 2 years ‘A’ level sciences with two (2) Principal Passes in Biology and Chemistry Diploma March – May September
(Up-grading) Laboratory Assistants
Laboratory Assistants 2 years ‘O’ Level standard with at least passes in sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English, and Mathematics) Certificate March – May September

Clinical mentor 9 months(Modular) Certificate – Enrolled nursing /Midwifery /laboratory Assistant or Diploma in any of the above Advanced Diploma December January
E-Learning (Midwifery) 2yrs Certificate Midwifery Diploma

Only female holders of Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) with at least two principal  passes obtained at the same sitting are eligible or only females with Diplomas from recognized institutions are eligible.

The females who passed the Mature Age Examination by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) are also eligible.

The female applicants must be interested in rural development.
