Kampala Film School

By | January 3, 2020

Kampala Film School (a subsidiary of Kampala University) was founded by Andreas Frowein in 2009 with the generous support of Centurm für Internationale Migration (CIM), ARRI, SONY, AVID and many others. KFS is the first and oldest Film School in Uganda.  In its short history, the school has trained a wealth of talented graduates many of whom are now employed across East Africa’s rapidly expanding Film and Television Industry.

Through a balance of theoretical studies and practical workshops, KFS equips students with a broad knowledge and full understanding of filmmaking whilst offering opportunities to specialize in the area of their personal interest and to develop individual professional skills.

Our graduates leave the Film School and move into a variety of fields covering roles from directing to cinematography, editing and producing. The course is led by a team of Ugandan and international professionals with extensive industry experience.
