Uganda Technical College Bushenyi

Uganda Technical College Bushenyi is a recognized Public Tertiary Institution, under the Ministry of Education and Sports under the direct supervision of the department of Business Technical Vocational Education and Training (BTVET) . It is governed under the University and other Tertiary institution, Act 2001.It is mandated to;    

  • Provide Full Time and Part time courses of study and training in such fields of applied learning and research as the Minister may specify in the instrument establishing the institution.            
  • Arrange and organize conferences , seminars , workshops and study groups in its field of operation. Perform such other functions as may be directed by the Minister on the advise of the National Council in the promotion of higher education.

Criteria of Admitting Students to Join the College
The College offers courses both on Government supported and Private sponsorship. Admits
once in academic year ie August intake on semester basis. Application forms will be on sale
in February-August every year.

Courses Offered at the College and Admission Requirements;
National Diploma in Civil Engineering (NDCE)

Either: One Principal Pass in either Physics or Mathematics and two subsidiary passes in science subjects
Or (i) A degree in physical sciences
(ii) Advanced Craft certificate in: Block laying and Concreting Practice, Plumbing and Carpentry and Joinery.

National Diploma in Water Engineering (NDWE)
National Diploma in Architecture (NDA)
National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (NDME)

Either: One Principal Pass in either Physics or Mathematics and two subsidiary passes in science subjects
Or (i) A degree in physical sciences
(ii) Mechanical Engineering Craft Practice Part II, Motor Vehicle Technicians Course Part II & Agricultural Mechanics Part II.

National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (NDEE)
Either: One Principal Pass in either Physics or Mathematics and two subsidiary passes in science subjects
Or (i) A degree in physical sciences
(ii) Advanced craft certificate in Electrical Installation, and Radio & Television Electronic Technician course.

National Diploma in Ceramics Engineering (NDCE) Either: One Principal Pass in either Chemistry or Mathematics and two subsidiary passes in science subjects
Or (i) Advanced Craft certificate in Pottery

National Diploma in Information and Communications Technology (NDICT) A Principal Pass in either a Science subject or Arts subject and two subsidiary subjects

National Higher Diplomas (HD)
A diploma in the above named programmes
