About Bishop Stuart University Faculty Of Law

Bishop Stuart University started as a private university, founded by the Diocese of Ankole, Church of Uganda, in March 2002. In April 2004 it was affiliated to Uganda Christian University- Mukono, as a Study Centre. It was accredited as an independent university in 2006 by the National Council for Higher Education and was officially licensed to start awarding Diplomas, Degrees as well as Post Graduate diplomas.

With accreditation, the University has overtime evolved its curriculum through establishment of faculties, to wit, the Faculty of Business and Development studies, the Faculty of Applied Sciences and the Faculty of Education. Currently, the  the Faculty of Law has started and applications from interested candidates are invited.

Vision and Mission

The Faculty of Law vision and mission are intertwined with Bishop Stuart University‘s vision and mission, namely to be a university for recreating the African society with academic excellence, human values and entrepreneurship; and producing multi-sectoral leaders/operators, who know the way, show the way and go the way.

The Faculty  endeavours to train and nurture Christian lawyers with a difference, that is lawyers who are prepared to work for the realization of justice as inspired and influenced by Christian values.

Course Offered The facaulty is currently running its first Intake of LLB (Bachelor of Law) and DIL (Diploma in Law). The next Intake will be communicated to the pblic through this website and other information Channels like Radio, Television and Newspapers.

Bishop Stuart University Faculty of Law Entry Requirement

BASIC ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
A. Degree Requirements:
(i) UCE certificate
(ii) 2 principal passes at A’ Level obtained at the same sitting
(iii) Entry by Diploma; One must hold a relevant Diploma from a recognized Institution.
B. Diploma Requirements:
(i) 1 Principal pass at A’ Level with two subsidiary passes obtained at the same sitting
(ii) A 2 year relevant certificate from a recognized Institution.
C. Certificate Requirements
(1) Advanced Certificate in Appropriate & Sustainable Technologies
(i) This certificate is open to any professional who wants to gain qualifications and skills in science & technical Education or
(ii) One should have an A’ level certificate or equivalent qualifications
(2) Certificate in Education Management
(i) One should be a teacher i.e from Grade III to Graduate teacher.Sponsored Links
